CHOCOLATE SHAKE | Raw Food Recipe

Raw, raw, raw!  We’ve all heard about it and we all know how good it is for our health, our only concern is the children and how to coerce them into following the latest fad. Make it sweet! Plain & simple, add natural, healthy sweeteners to raw goodness in an attempt to “baby step” your bubs down the healthy food triangle.

Click here for a recipe that’ll make your little ones weak at the knees whilst still giving them a healthy dose of fruit to start the day. We had a play with this recipe here in the Elke office and without surprise, it was a total hit.  Here’s our altered version:

Best chocolate milkshake ever: serves 2 people

3 frozen bananas (peel before putting them in the freezer)

A handful of dates

2 tablespoon cacao

1 tablespoon agave

A handful of cashews or 1 tablespoon nut butter

2 cups water

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

1 teaspoon of chia seeds

1 tablespoon of shredded coconut

A handful of ice cubes

Blend all ingredients together until ALMOST totally smooth.  The date chunks make this drink divine.  Slurp & enjoy!
