I agree, cloud décor for kids has become excessive and probably a little overdone but hey..clouds are comforting and who doesn’t want their kid to feel comforted? They’re not going to know that tonnes of other children around the globe are clutching cloud pillows, just like the one dangling beside their doorway. All they’ll know about is the dream state they’ll sink into after staring long enough at this sweet piece of art. It’s quick, simple and costs a pittance! Enjoy the aftermath..
What you need to get started is:
- 2 sheets of felt- any colour is fine
- 1 knitter’s needle
- Pom poms- as many different colours as you like
- Some thread
Step 2. Draw your cloud on a piece of paper, cut out and pin to both sheets of felt. Then cut around the three layers.
Step 3. Start sewing but leave a gap to insert the stuffing.
Step 4. Insert stuffing then sew the cloud shut, tying a knot to secure.
Step 5. Attach different lengths of string to the bottom of your cloud. Tie a small knot at the back so it doesn’t come through. Then add the pom poms in any order, tie a knot at the end. At the top of the cloud thread through some string and knot the ends to make a loop for hanging.
